The Boulevard Project in Prishtina aims to transform the city center into a modern, green, and integrated space for citizens. The project area spans key urban squares — from the Archaeological Museum and Çarshia Mosque Square, “Skënderbeu” Square, “Zahir Pajaziti” Square, the University and “Mother Teresa” Cathedral Square, to “Ulpiana” Square. The existing conditions reveal multiple urban challenges: insufficient and fragmented public spaces, low architectural quality, lack of greenery, traffic congestion and unmanaged parking, along with environmental issues such as pollution, waste management, and poor maintenance. The proposed solution envisions the creation of a dedicated pedestrian boulevard, featuring thematic and historical squares, urban parks, ecological corridors, and improved connectivity across public areas. The project also emphasizes urban comfort, integration of cultural heritage, and economic revitalization through the development of new social and commercial hubs. Through a series of development scenarios, the final proposal defines an integrated boulevard that combines organic urban forms with targeted interventions and clearly defined public squares. Ultimately, the project seeks to enhance urban quality of life and re-establish Prishtina’s center as an inclusive, functional, and sustainable public realm.
